Every Mom's Dream

As some of you know, Cooper has been battling sickness for some time now. We were home Friday with a sinus infection, and then had a restful few days off of school and work (including Monday, the MLK holiday), only to discover bumps on Cooper's hands Monday morning consistent with the hand, foot & mouth virus [highly contagious, but not nearly as serious as it sounds -- just fever and small blistery bumps on hands, feet, and mouth (hence, the name)]. So, Jeremy has had "Cooper duty" the last two days, and I'm on tap to stay home with him tomorrow and Friday.

So, the point of this post is not to give you the boring details of our week. The funny thing is, Cooper is absolutely miserable to not be able to go to school this week. He loves his teachers and loves his time with his friends. It is so refreshing to know that his daycare has so much to offer him that he actually misses it when he's away. Last night, after stories and prayers, as I was laying Cooper in his crib, I said, "Sweet bud, have a good night sleep and I will see you tomorrow." Cooper responded, "And go to school?!?!?" in the sweetest anticipatory voice you've ever heard. I didn't have the heart to tell him that he had to stay home with his Papa again (which I would love to do by the way!). Tonight, Jeremy stayed home with the still-contagious Coop while I went to church. Jeremy reported that Cooper again asked about going to school during the bedtime routine. Like me, Jeremy didn't have the heart to tell him. Hopefully staying home with Mommy won't be too terribly awful tomorrow.
